The Lindenwood women's basketball team is heading to the University of Central Arkansas tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff against the Sugar Bears.
The Lions have one Division I game under their belt so far, having opened their season at Eastern Michigan on Monday, Nov. 7. The Eagles got the better of the injury-ridden Lions, who played the majority of the game with two substitutes and ultimately fell in a 56-71 loss despite their hard-fought effort.
Leading the Lions at Eastern Michigan was
Emily Benzschawel, who shot an impressive 3-3 from behind the three-point line, knocking down a team-leading 14 total points. The senior guard drained 3-4 of her free throws, and also added one block, one steal and four defensive rebounds to her stat line.
Masyn McWilliams had a strong debut in the black and gold, tallying 13 total points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal against the Eagles.
Central Arkansas also will be looking for their first win of the year, starting things off 0-2. The Sugar Bears previously fell 43-83 at Kansas State on Nov. 7, and 34-72 at Arkansas on Nov. 11.
Freshman Parris Atkins leads the Sugar Bears so far this year, tallying 17 total points between the two games to accumulate an 8.5 points per game average. Junior Kierra Prim is Central Arkansas' leader on the boards right now, averaging 6.0 rebounds per game.
This will be the first time the two teams will meet, kickstarting a historic all-time series record between the Lions and the Sugar Bears.
