Women's Basketball to Take on Tulsa

ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood women's basketball team will be heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes tomorrow morning at 1:00 p.m.

The Lions are still in search of their first Division I win, most recently coming off a loss to the Drake Bulldogs on Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Last game's Lion leaderboard featured two first-timers in Alana Striverson, who had a team-leading 13 points, as well as four total rebounds and two total assists. Sophia Horton knocked down 13 total points as well while also adding two rebounds to her stat line against the Bulldogs. Paige Craft was right on their heels with 11 total points, continuing to prove that she's a key member of Lindenwood's offense with each game she takes the floor for.

In terms of the entire season's leaders thus far, Mary McGrath has a team-leading 10.5 points per game, while Emily Benzschawel adds 9.7 ppg and Masyn McWilliams posts 9.2 ppg. McGrath also has a team-high 5.7 rebounds per game, 12 steals and five blocks, while McWilliams has 14 assists.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricanes currently sit at 5-2 on the year, most recently coming off a tight 65-59 victory over Duquesne on December 1. Tulsa are undefeated so far on their home court, posting a 3-0 home record overall while going 1-1 on the road and 1-1 in neutral site contests as well.

Temira Poindexter is the Golden Hurricanes' heavy-hitter so far this year, starting all seven games and averaging 15.1 points to lead her team in the points per game category. Maya Mayberry is next in line, occupying the second spot on the Tulsa leaderboard with a 12.1 points per game average this season.

The Golden Hurricanes have outscored their opponents 520-413 in the seven games they've played so far, and will no doubt be looking to remain undefeated in their home arena during their matchup with the Lions (the first one in both schools' histories)
