Box Score The women's basketball team (10-14) beat McKendree (3-21) 73-58 in Lebanon, Ill. on Wednesday night.
OVERVIEW
Hennessey Handy had a huge night for the Lions both offensively and defensively. The Joliet, Ill. native dropped 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, topping the leaderboard in both categories. This performance surpassed Hennessey's previous season high number of points (12 on 11/17 against Emporia State), as well as rebounds (7 against UMSL on 2/19).Â
Mary McGrath was next in line behind Handy with 10 points and 6 rebounds.Â
Emily Benzschawel was strong on the boards with five rebounds, while also dropping nine total points.
Julia Ruzevich and
Ellen McCorkle both knocked down nine points and grabbed four rebounds.
Paige Craft and
Gracie Neff tied for first in assists with four each.Â
The Lions shot 45.0 percent overall, and went 11-18 from the free throw line. Lindenwood also doubled the amount of rebounds that McKendree got, grabbing 46 vs. the Bearcats' 22.Â
