The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse (4-0, 0-0 GLVC) team beat Tiffin University (0-1, 0-0 GMAC) 20-1 in Hunter Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
OVERVIEW
The Lions blew past the Dragons in the first quarter, putting nine goals in the back of the net while holding Tiffin to none. Lindenwood's goals came from
Sara Grieco (2),
Logann Eldredge,
Natalie Gane,
Breylin Bright (2),
Paige Sutton, and
Meredith Parry (2).
Sutton kicked things off in the second quarter off the assist from Grieco, making it 10-0 just seven seconds after the opening draw control. Shortly after, Parry netted her third of the game, then
Hennessey Evans and
Chloe Elliott got on the board with one each before the quarter ended.
Haylie Sims checked in for the Lions at the start of the third quarter, splitting the game with
Eleanor Kast, who made three saves and allowed zero goals during her shift. Sims made four saves and had one goal against.
Evans netted two more goals for the Lions in the third quarter off assists from
Clara Gallapoo and
Sophia DeFrancesco. In the fourth quarter, Gane scored twice more, while
Jillian Bingman,
Olivia Tighe and
Aleksa Allen all got their first goals of the year.
Eldredge led the way defensively for Lindenwood, sitting atop the leaderboard of the day with three groundballs and four caused turnovers, while
Olivia Duarte scooped up three groundballs and
Emma Arnold caused three turnovers.
