Women's Lacrosse Gets Senior Day Victory Over Maryville

The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team beat Maryville 21-2 on Sunday afternoon in Hunter Stadium. 

OVERVIEW
The Lions went up 5-0 before the Saints could get on the board thanks to two goals from Logann Eldredge and a goal apiece from Lindsey Smith, Meredith Parry and Paige Sutton. Maryville's Jessie Haynes netted an unassisted goal before the Lions scored four more, making it 9-1 going into the second. Eldredge contributed one more, while Bridget Considine, Sara Grieco and Hennessey Evans also knocked goals in.

Chloe Elliott netted two goals in the second period to keep the Lions' offense rolling, and Sutton scored another goal as well. Clara Gallapoo got her first of the game, and Lindenwood went up 13-1 before halftime. 

Maryville was able to get another goal in during the third, but the Lions answered with three more, extending their lead 16-2. Parry netted her second of the game, and Liz Beckner got on the board with her first of the game. Sophia DeFrancesco scored a man-down goal in the last 37 seconds of the game off the assist from Emma Arnold to wrap things up before the final period. 

The fourth period consisted of five Lindenwood goals, starting with DeFransesco off the assist from Faith Hamel. Natalie Gane, Carly Tobias, and Hamel all netted their first goals of the game, and DeFrancesco finished things off with a goal in the last two minutes of the game, wrapping up the Lions' dominant team performance. 

Game leaders of the day were Eldredge and DeFrancesco with three goals apiece, while Evans and Emma Arnold led the way with three assist each. Andie McConnell and Alyssa Kneedler tied for the most ground balls with three each, while Arnold and Kelsey Long each caused three turnovers. Haylie Sims and Eleanor Kast both recorded one save each.

UP NEXT
The Lions will head to St. Joseph, Missouri on Thursday to take on the Missouri Western Griffins at 7:00 pm to keep their GLVC schedule rolling.
