The Lindenwood baseball team (20-16, 9-6 GLVC) lost both games of Friday's doubleheader to Missouri-St. Louis (9-21, 8-7 GLVC) by scores of 5-4 and 4-3, respectively in St. Louis, Mo.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
The Tritons scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning, but the Lions responded in the top of the third. With two outs,
Austin Schmitt singled to left field before
Ambrose Russo belted a two-run home run to give Lindenwood a 2-1 lead. Missouri-St. Louis answered with three runs in the next half inning to regain a 4-2 advantage.

Lindenwood surrendered one run in the bottom of the fifth, but again quickly put up runs in the next frame.Â
Connor Adams drove in a run on a single up the middle, and the Lions took advantage of wild pitching by scoring a run on a passed ball. Lindenwood stranded three baserunners in the inning, but cut the deficit to 5-4. The Tritons held on for the one-run win in the second game of the weekend series, and the first of the Friday's doubleheader.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
Lindenwood jumped on the board in the opening inning of the second game, as
Austin Schmitt homered to left field.Â
Ethan Abercrombie hammered a ball to left field for a home run of his own, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Missouri-St. Louis tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom half, as the both offensive went stagnant for the next few innings.

Russo hit his second homer of the day, as his solo shot in the top of the seventh inning put the Lions in front 3-2. The Tritons hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning as both runs scored were unearned.
