Baseball Splits Saturday's Games with No. 23 Drury

The Lindenwood baseball team (23-18, 12-8 GLVC) split Saturday's doubleheader with No. 23 Drury (29-12, 14-6 GLVC) at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.  The Lions won the first game 5-4, before falling 5-4 in the second game.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
The Lions surrendered a run early in the game, falling behind 1-0 after the second inning.  Jayce Maag tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth after driving in Jack Meyer on a single to left field.  Drury regained its lead in the next half inning, but the Lions responded with a big inning in the bottom of the fifth.

Will Lanxon led off the frame with a single up the middle, and scored from first base on a double by Ambrose Russo to tie the game at 2-2.  Russo advanced to third on a wild pitch, and crossed the plate on an-RBI single up the middle by Kolby Schulte.  Later in the inning, the Lions had runners at first and second with two outs.  Sam Kissane hit a single to center field which allowed Schulte to score, but Michael Ward took advantage of a throwing error by the Panthers to make it a 5-2 lead.  Drury scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh, but Niko Marshall secured the win by getting the final two outs in his first save of the season.
