The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team fell to Wingate in a 20-11 loss on Wednesday night in Hunter Stadium.
OVERVIEW
The Bulldogs got an early lead on the Lions, knocking in two quick goals right from the jump.
Peter Covington put Lindenwood on the board shortly after, but the Bulldogs answered back with one more to keep their two-goal lead.
Patrick Kaschalk and
Ryan Kemp would each net a goal in the first as well, but
Nolan Corker had the goal of the period, knocking one in off the assist from Covington to beat the buzzer, making it 4-5 right before time expired.
Corker rode the momentum going into the second, opening the second half with an unassisted goal to finally tie things up. Wingate scored again as well, but the Lions kept it tied with another goal from Kemp shortly after. Corker netted his third, and
Dylan Colon found the back of the net with under seven minutes to go to give Lindenwood the first lead of the game at 8-7. The Bulldogs would net one more, making it 8-8 before halftime.
Wingate ran the score up in the third period, finding the back of the net four times in the first six minutes. Kaschalk ended the Lions scoreless streak, netting his second of the game, but the Bulldogs outscored the Lions 6-1 in the third period, going up 14-9 right before the fourth.
Kemp scored first to kick off the fourth period, but less than 10 seconds later, the Bulldogs answered back with their 15th goal of the game.
Adrian Thompson would put in his first goal of the game, but it wouldn't be enough for the Lions in the end.
