Softball Wraps Landmark Campaign at Midwest Regional

The Lindenwood softball team (35-13) ended its historic 2022 spring campaign on Friday afternoon, dropping a 10-1 decision to top-seeded and No. 10 Southern Indiana (44-11) in an elimination contest.

The Lions end their season with the most wins in the program's DII era, including a team-best 18-game winning streak that spanned throughout March.

Junior ace Amanda Weyh also set a new program record with 22 wins and 20 complete games inside the circle. Joining Weyh with individual single-season records is graduate student Whitney Wendel, who set new program-best marks in doubles (17) and RBI (42).

Lindenwood scored its lone run of Friday's contest in the fifth on an infield single by senior Taylor Bushman.

Emma Daniels collected two hits to lead the Lions' offense, while Wendel joined Bushman with the other knocks. Brianna Macias also pitched for the second day in a row, while Abigail Uplegger closed out the final two innings from the rubber.

Head coach Erin Brown will now the Lindenwood softball program into NCAA Division I competition, beginning with the 2022-23 academic year.
