The Lindenwood women's hockey team will open the 2022-23 season on the road this weekend, taking on Bemidji State in a two-game series from Bemidji, Minn. Game one on Friday will begin at 6:00 p.m., while game two on Saturday is set for 3:00 p.m.

Lindenwood was picked to finish fourth in the CHA preseason poll for the second-consecutive year after compiling a 6-22-1 record a year ago. All six wins came at home inside Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.

The 2022-23 roster will feature eight newcomers, who will surround some key returning pieces. Named a CHA Rookie of the Week once a year ago,
Morgan Neitzke comes back for her sophomore campaign after posting 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) last season which ranked third on the squad. Senior netminder
Natalie Ferenc will be a key piece between the pipes this season. The West Bloomfield, Mich. native stopped 451 shots on her way to posting 3.87 goals against average to go along with a .897 save percentage, all tops among Lindenwood goaltenders.

The Lions and the Beavers will square off for the 14th and 15th time in the series history. The two teams met twice last season with Bemidji State earning the victory in both contests. The final game went into overtime after Lindenwood tied the game at 3-3 with less than two minutes left before falling in the extra session.

Chloe Corbin registered two points (1 G, 1 A) in the series against the Beavers, including her first career goal. The Maple Grove, Minn, native finished last season with a career-high five points on two goals and three assists.

Bemidji State was picked to finish sixth in the WCHA preseason poll after finishing the 2021-22 campaign with a 11-20-3 record, including a 8-18-2 mark inside conference play.

Lindenwood will be looking for its first season-opening victory since the 2010-11 season.
