Women's Soccer Rolls to 5-0 Win Over William Jewell

The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-0-0 OVC) rolled to a 5-0 win over William Jewell (1-2-0, 0-0-0 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.  The Lions tallied 19 shots, including 12 on goal in the win. The 5-0 victory was the teams largest since September 7, 2018.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood dominated the opening half, generating nine shots, including seven on goal. The Lions got on the board in the 13th minute when Lily Sutter and Rachel Jackson got behind the William Jewell defense and Jackson pounced on a rebound for her second score of the season, which leads the team. The second goal for Lindenwood came in the 38th minute from a corner kick when Kamryn Ealey converted a loose ball in the box, giving the Lions a 2-0 lead. Payton Ganz picked up an assist on the score.

Lindenwood continued where it left off to begin the second half, picking up three goals in the span of 17 minutes to begin the second half. Jacqueline Baetz and Jill Wipke each converted penalty kicks and Eyglo Thorsteinsdottir netted her second goal in as many games, which extended the Lindenwood lead to 5-0. Erika Anstine made four saves, earning another shutout.

QUOTABLE
"Our focus each game is to keep building off experiences from the game before" said head coach Dave Musso. "It was great for our group to score some goals at home. I'm also proud of another clean sheet on defense. We now gear up for Illinois State on the road."

Lindenwood will head to Normal, Ill. on Thursday for a matchup will Illinois State. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
