SEMO Up Next on Women's Basketball Schedule

ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood women's basketball team will head to Cape Girardeau tomorrow night to take on the SEMO Redhawks at 5:00 p.m.

The Lions are most recently coming off a heartbreaking five-point loss to Tennessee State that happened on Saturday in Hyland Arena. The final ended up being 74-79 in favor of the Tigers despite an extremely hard-fought effort from the home team.

Four Lions scored in double figures in this game, with none other than Mary McGrath leading the way with 18 total points for her seventh team-leading outing in a row. Masyn McWilliams put together a strong 16-point game, while Devin Fuhring was hot on her heels, finishing with 15 total points against the Tigers. Paige Craft was able to knock down 10 total points, making her the fourth Lion to hit double digits this game.

McGrath is also holding her own in the OVC, ranking tenth in points per game average and eighth in rebounds per game (overall stats), while also posting the second highest field goal percentage in the conference with .625 and most defensive rebounds per game with 6.5 (conference-only stats). Other Lions who are representing in the OVC include Emily Benzschawel, who comes in at No. 19 in points per game with 9.7, and Masyn McWilliams, who is No. 23 in points per game with her 8.8 average.

SEMO will also be searching for their first OVC win on Saturday, joining the Lions in their 0-4 conference mark so far. Overall, the Redhawks currently post a 5-10 record on the year, having gone 5-1 on their home court so far this season.

Thursday's contest will mark just the second time the Redhawks and Lions have squared off in women's basketball. The first and only meeting between the two came on Dec. 3, 2012 and resulted in a Southeast Missouri victory, 66-56, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. This season marks the first season in Lindenwood's Division-I era.

The Redhawks' current leading scorer is Kennedi Watkins, who averages 9.0 points per game so far this year. She is also her team's leading rebounder, averaging 4.8 rebounds per game across all 15 games so far.
