Women's Hockey Welcomes Mercyhurst For Pride Weekend

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-18-0, 2-4-0 CHA) gets back into conference play this weekend and will host Mercyhurst (11-11-0. 3-1-0 CHA) in a two-game series from Centene Community Ice Center. The Lions will hold their second-annual Pride Game on Friday, which begins at 7:10 p.m., while the series finale is scheduled for a 1:10 p.m. puck drop.
 
Lindenwood dropped both games of its series against Minnesota State this past weekend by scores of 8-0 and 5-2, respectively. Despite the score in the opener, the Lions compiled 37 shots on goal, their third highest total of the season.
 
Morgan Neitzke and Rachel Goff both tallied multi-point efforts in the second contest as they continue to pace the offense. Neiitzke, a sophomore forward leads the team in every major offensive category: points (17), goals (10), assists (7) and shots (91). Goff ranks second on the team in points (12), goals (6), and assists (6).
 
Chloe Corbin had a solid pair of games against the Mavericks, winning 14-of-22 draws in the series opener, while picking up a pair of assists in the finale. The Maple Grove, Minn. native has centered Lindenwood's top line which features Goff and Neitzke for most of the season.
 
Julia Maguire registered 52 saves in the series against the Mavericks as the Muskegon, Mich, native saw action in both games. The senor netminder has recorded 25 or more saves in three of her five starts on the year.
 
The Lions defeated the Lakers 4-3 in the final game of the regular season a year ago. In that contest, Natalie Ferenc compiled a season-high 56 saves, including 23 stops in the final frame.  So far this season, Ferenc has compiled 491 saves, tops on the team.
 
Mercyhurst is coming off a series sweep of Post University, defeating the Eagles 13-0 and 8-0, respectively. The 13 goals are tied for the second-most in a single game in CHA history.
