ST. CHARLES, MO. — The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-10-1, 1-5-0 OVC) will travel to Kentucky to take on Morehead State (4-5-5, 3-1-2 OVC) on Sunday, October 15
th at 12:00 p.m. CT.
The Lions are sitting in last place of the OVC table, coming off two losses in their recent matchups against UT Martin and Southern Indiana, where they were held scoreless.
Anna Johnson, a first year from Oswego, Ill., leads the Lions with five points.
Maggie Weller and
Mia Corrigan are tied with the second most points on the team with four.
Eyglo Thorsteinsdottir leads the Lions in minutes with 1101 minutes, and has also tallied three points coming off one goal and one assist.
Erika Anstine started in net for the Lions in their last matchup against Southern Indiana. Anstine on the year has made 12 appearances, making 66 saves on 22 goals against.
The Lions are looking for their fourth win of the year, and their second win in conference, to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The Lions will matchup with the Eagles for the second time in program history. In their last matchup the Lions lost to the Eagles 1-0 on October 16
th, 2022. The Eagles currently sit as the second-best team in the OVC with three wins, one loss, and two ties in conference play. The Eagles won 1-0 in their most recent match over SEMO on October 8
th. Colleen Swift leads the Eagles in points with nine coming off four goals and one assist. Nicole Fiantaco and Hedda Ornberg are second on the team in points with six. Erin Gibbs has been a key part in the Eagles success this year, making 14 appearances in net, making 55 saves on 14 goals against.
