Lindenwood women's volleyball comes home to Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. to take on Ohio Valley Conference opponent Morehead State on Friday and Saturday for their dig pink matches. Last season, the Eagles took both matches by scores of 1-3 in Morehead, Ky.
Coming into this week, Lindenwood split their last two matches with Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill. The Lions handed EIU their second loss of the season, including their first OVC loss last Friday. In five sets, Lindenwood took down the Panthers.
Morehead State is on a three match win streak including winning their last two matches at home against Southern Indiana. MSU swept USI last Friday before going the distance in five sets on Saturday.
The Lions were picked to finish seventh this season in the OVC during the preseason voting. Morehead State was picked to finish fifth in the OVC after placing in third last year heading into the OVC tournament.
Weekend Recap
Lindenwood went into Eastern Illinois and split their two matches, marking the first conference loss for Eastern Illinois this season. Friday evening saw a back-and-forth battle between the Lions and the Panthers ending in a five set win for LU.
Nyah Wilson's 16 kills and six aces helped lift the Lions over EIU.
Rebecca Janke also had a good game as the primary middle blocker for LU with 14 kills and two blocks.
The Lions started off the evening hot with a set one victory 25-20. Lindenwood hit .526 in the set with 11 kills, three by Janke and Ozge Tan. Wilson also had two aces in the set.

Eastern Illinois got even with the Lions in the second after posting 13 kills on a .265 hitting percentage. The Lions were down 10-3 early and could never regroup after hitting .171 for the set.Â

The Lions continued to capitalize on the Panthers mistakes as they took the third set 25-22. Down 7-3 early on, Lindenwood battled back to tie the match at 12-12 and 16-16. EIU then took 4-0 straight points to go up four 20-16.
The fourth set belonged to the Panthers as they settled down Lindenwood's offense holding them to a .091 hitting percentage and 10 kills. EIU gave the Lions a taste of their own medicine with three aces in the set.
Heading into the fifth set, Otten made a diving play to start the set which resulted in a LU point. Wilson and Janke overpowered the Eastern defense with a combined nine kills in the last set, helping the Lions take down the current OVC leader.
Eastern Illinois would get their revenge on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Lindenwood 3-1. Wilson earned a team high 11 kills in four sets while also leading the team in digs with 13. Wilson is now on a four match double-double streak.Â

OVC Top Ten
Continuing her season as being one of the most effective hitters in the OVC,
Rebecca Janke ranks seventh in hitting percentage with a .303. Of the people ranked in the top ten in hitting percentage, she ranks fifth in kills with 200.
Addy McAleer remains in the top 10 in kills this season with an average of 3.05 per set (10th in the OVC). Her 232 total kills ranks seventh currently in the OVC.
Allie Otten continues as the lead setter for LU and has helped the team rank fourth in both team assists (11.78 a/s) and hitting percentage (.194). Otten's 6.76 assists per set average ranks eighth in the OVC while her 514 assists ranks seventh.
Jessie Seidel has been solid this season for the Lions ranking fifth in the conference in digs with an average of 4.50 per set. Her 342 total digs currently ranks fourth in the OVC and is one of six liberos to go over 300 digs this season.

Defensively,
Jessie Seidel has been everywhere for the Lions in her senior season. After posting over 300 digs this season, Seidel has reached over 300 digs in every season for her entire Lindenwood career. She also broke the Lindenwood NCAA record for career digs earlier this season.
So far this year, Seidel has collected 342 to digs for an average of 4.50 digs per set. She has also posted a .949 reception percentage, the best mark on the team (min. 400 attempts). Seidel is also just six services aces away from reaching 100 in her career.
