ST. CHARLES, MO. –  The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-8-1, 1-3-0 OVC) is set to host the UT Martin Skyhawks (3-6-3, 0-1-2 OVC) on Thursday, October 5th, at 7:00 p.m. at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

In their most recent matchup, the Lions won 2-1 over Little Rock, breaking the six-game losing streak and winning their first conference matchup of the year. Players to watch for the Lions include Anna Johnson, Maggie Weller, Eyglo Thorsteinsdottir, Faith Montandon. As a Freshman, Johnson leads the Lions in points with five, coming from two goals and one assist. Weller, a threat on the offensive side of the ball, is second on the team in points with four. Thorsteinsdottir and Montandon remain to be leaders in the backfield for the Lions, but also have the capability of being offensive threats, with both of them tallying a goal in the Lions last matchup. Thorsteinsdottir also leads the Lions in minutes with 1034.

The Lions are looking for the second conference win of the year over the UT Martin Skyhawks, moving their record to 4-8-1 and 2-3-0 in OVC play.

The Lions will matchup with the Skyhawks for the second time in program history. In their last matchup, the Lions won 1-0 over the Skyhawks. In their last two matchups of the 2023 season, the Skyhawks tied Little Rock 1-1, and Western Illinois 1-1. Players to watch for the Skyhawks include Makayla Robinson and Catey Hunt on the offensive side of the ball and Poppy Bastock on the defensive side of the ball. Robinson has tallied three goals for the Skyhawks with one of them being a game-winner. Hunt is first on the team in minutes with 1077 and is second on the team in points with five. Bastock, the last line of defense, started in eleven games, making 53 saves on twenty goals against.  

The Lions will travel to the University of Southern Indiana in their next matchup, on October 8th , at 12:00 p.m. Central Time.
