The Lindenwood football team (3-7, 1-5 BS/OVC) lost its final game of the 2023 season to Bryant (5-5, 3-2 BS/OVC) by a score of 38-3 on Saturday afternoon from Hunter Stadium.
GAME OVERVIEW
Bryant scored on its first two offensive possessions to take a quick 14-0 lead halfway through the first quarter. The Lions struggled offensively in the first frame and would trail by that score heading to the second.
The Bulldogs capped off a strong drive to begin the middle frame with another touchdown to extend their lead to 21-0. Lindenwood finally got some traction on offense with the use of the ground game.
Jared Rhodes and
Justin Williams combined for 48 yards on the ground in a drive that resulted in a 35-yard field goal from
Logan Seibert, making the score 21-3. The drive took up over half the quarter. Bryant would score the next 10 points of the game, however to take a 31-3 lead into halftime.
Lindenwood started the second half with a big completion to
Spencer Redd, but the ball was fumbled out of the end zone for a touchback. Bryant maintained control of the game throughout the third quarter and would go on to add another score late in the frame to take a 38-3 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lions were unable to draw any closer in the fourth as they would fall on senior day by a score of 38-3. Redd finished his day with a team-high 87 yards receiving.
