ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood women's volleyball (15-14, 11-7 OVC) secured the #3 seed in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament next week as they took down Southeast Missouri State (20-9, 12-6 OVC) in five sets. The Lions posted 58 kills and 11 service aces in their 15th win of the season.
"That was a gritty performance," said head coach
Will Condon. "I thought SEMO made some adjustments and got us out of our comfort zone in sets two and three. We made the decision to be okay with not playing perfect volleyball and just rind out points."
Addy McAleer was the hero on Thursday picking up a double-double with a team-high 17 kills and 11 digs. She was 17 for 49 on attacks and had a hitting percentage of .224. She also had two of Lindenwood's 11 service aces.
Ashley Geluck had her second straight strong performance against SEMO with 12 kills on 24 attempts with a .375 hitting percentage.

Lindenwood picked up the early set one victory by a final score of 25-22. McAleer was the catalyst on offense in the first set registering five kills on nine attempts. The Lions had six service aces in the first set alone while holding SEMO to a .156 hitting percentage.
Southeast Missouri went on to win the next two sets on Thursday with scores of 20-25 and 17-25. The Lions were held to just .147 and .079 hitting percentages in those two sets. The Redhawks capitalized on a big third set with a .344 hitting percentage and 13 kills.
Allie Otten settled the offense down from the setter spot in the fourth set and helped Lindenwood pick up a 25-19 set win. Otten had 10 assists and six digs in the set and helped Lindenwood hit .170.
Nyah Wilson had four of her six kills in the set while McAleer added another five.
Coming down to the fifth set, Lindenwood trailed late going down 3-7. Kraemer led a comeback of her own posting three kills to help tie it at 10-10.
Jessie Seidel had another huge ace along with a kill by McAleer helped the Lions take the lead, and eventually propelled LU to a five set win.
"Our effort was consistently high, we just were able to focus that effort better in sets four and five. We did a great job of keeping our heads up," said Condon. "I am proud of this team's growth and development over the course of the season. They have put a lot of work in and I am happy for them that they are getting the opportunity to see the results."
Otten had a team high 45 assists in the match with three kills, two aces and 18 digs for a double-double.
