Women's Basketball Concludes Road Trip at Northern Illinois

The Lindenwood women's basketball (0-3, 0-0 OVC) concludes its three-game road trip on Tuesday with a matchup against Northern Illinois (0-3, 0-0 MAC). Tip-off from Dekalb, Ill. is set for 6:00 p.m.
 
The Lions are coming off an 81-62 loss to Cincinnati nearly a week ago. In that game, Ellie Brueggemann had a game-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including five makes from beyond the arc. The Owasso, Okla. native has scored in double figures in all three games this season.
 
Mykayla Cunningham filled the stat sheet in 24 minutes against Cincinnati. The Salina, Kan. tallied eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 26 minutes of action. The freshman guard has provided a spark off the bench this season.
 
The reserves have played a key role in each contest, scoring 20 or more points in all three games. Leading the charge is Kaylen Evans who scores 8.0 points per game in that role, while Cunningham adds 5.7 points per contest through three games this year.
 
In the game against Cincinnati, the Lions forced 14 Bearcat turnovers, which resulted in 16 Lindenwood points. Through three games this season, Lindenwood sits at a plus 1.3 turnover margin and has forced more turnovers than its opponent two times on the year.
 
This will be the second meeting between the Lions and Huskies. Last season, NIU picked up a 67-56 win in St. Charles Mo.
