The men's ice hockey team is suited and ready to face the #19 Nittany Lions of Penn State University on Friday and Saturday, November 24th and 25th. Entering the weekend, the Lions are 3-7-2 after recording their first NCAA Division I shut out over Long Island on November 17th. On the 18th, Lindenwood fell 6-2.
Against ranked teams this season, LU has went 0-3-1 after falling 4-2 to Ohio State in game three of the season and tying the Buckeyes 2-2 in game four. Against Michigan, the Lions dropped both contests. The first with a score of 9-1 and second 10-1. Despite those set backs, Lindenwood pushed forward, splitting with Augustana in their home opening weekend. In their first meeting, Augustana edged past the Lions 4-3 and Lindenwood took the win by two, 5-3 in their second meeting.
The Nattany Lions and #11 Michigan State met on November 10th and 11th. The Friday contest ended in 3-3, with Penn State winning the shootout. On the 11th, Michigan State took the contest 5-3. Last weekend, the Nittany Lions took on #12 Michigan, splitting the weekend. Their first contest ended in favor of Michigan, 6-4, while the second ended with PSU winning 5-3.
Aiden Fink is currently leading the Nittany Lions with 15-points after recording seven goals and eight assists. Danny Dzhaniyev and Jacques Bouquot each have 11-points. Dzhaniyev has three goals, seven assists; while Bouquot has three goals and eight assists.
