The Lindenwood women's basketball team (0-5, 0-0 OVC) dropped a midweek tilt with Central Arkansas (4-3, 0-0 ASUN) by a score of 77-64 from Hyland Arena in St Charles, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEW
It was a defensive battle in the first quarter as both teams shot under 45 percent from the field. Neither squad trailed by more than five points in the opening frame as the Sugar Bears held a 13-10 lead after one quarter.
UCA started the second on an 8-1 run which forced a Lindenwood timeout. After the media timeout, the Lions settled in and started to chip away.
Reagan Rapert scored five quick points, including a three-pointer, which made the score 29-24 with under two minutes to go in the half. The Sugar Bears held a 33-26 advantage after 20 minutes.
Out of halftime, the Sugar Bears went on a 17-4 run, which extended their lead to 50-30 near the midway point of the third quarter. The Lions showed a little life at the end of the frame after
Mary McGrath drilled a three-pointer to close out the quarter, cutting the deficit to 59-41.
The Lions had their best shooting quarter in the final frame as the team shot 50 percent from the field. Lindenwood forced five turnovers in the fourth and ended the game on a 16-6 run with eight of those points coming from
Mya Skoff. Skoff finished the contest with a team-high 12 points. However, it wasn't enough as Lindenwood fell 77-64.
