The Lindenwood football team (3-6, 1-4 BS/OVC) will close out the 2023 regular season on Saturday, taking on Bryant (4-5, 2-2 BS/OVC) inside Hunter Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
Â
The Lions are coming off a hard fought 16-10 loss to Eastern Illinois last weekend. Lindenwood held the Panthers scoreless in the second half after trailing early but fell just short. Lindenwood has now outscored opponents 107-80 in the second half of games.
Â
Spencer Redd had a solid all-around game, totaling 155 all-purpose yards (88 receiving, 67 KOR). The Springfield, Ill. native now has 3656 career all-purpose yards, third-most in program history. Redd has been with the program since 2018 and has his name all over the record book. The 2021 GLVC Special Teams Player of the Year has three career kickoff return touchdowns, second most in program history.
Â
Along with Redd, three other seniors on the roster will hit the field one last time after spending their entire collegiate career in the black and gold.
Jayden Littlejohn,
Mann McGruder, and
Wesley Hines each committed to Lindenwood straight out of high school. This group has seen a great amount of success in a Lindenwood uniform, leading the program to the first playoff victory at the NCAA level in 2019.
Â
Redshirt junior
Joe Becker will also be going through senior day festivities and joins the list of high school commits who started their career in St. Charles and worked their way to become Lindenwood graduates.
Â
This will be the first ever meeting between the Bulldogs and Lions. During the 2023 season, Lindenwood has played six opponents for the first time, winning two of those games.
Â
Lindenwood has closed out the year with a win during the last four full seasons, excluding 2020 when the Lions opted out of a season due to the pandemic.
