Women's Basketball Inks Kiara Smith

Lindenwood women's basketball head coach Amy Eagan announced the addition of Kiara Smith for the 2024-25 season as part of National Signing Day.

"We are excited to add Kiara Smith to our Lindenwood women's basketball family," said Eagan. "We have been recruiting Kiara and her family for many years and I know we have signed not only a phenomenal basketball player, but a great person!"

Kiara Smith | 5-8 | Guard | Douglas High School | Midwest City, Okla.

Smith was a two-sport athlete at Harding Charter Prep in Oklahoma City, Okla. before transferring to Douglas High School. At Harding Charter Prep, Smith made a state appearance in the 100m as a freshman. On the basketball court, she has been a four-year starter and was an all-state honorable mention after her first prep season.

She landed on the GMAC all second team after a strong sophomore campaign. During that summer. Smith was rated as the No. 2 point guard in the state and started on the 2022 Adidas national runner up Trae Young 3SSB 17u.

She helped lead the team to a state appearance and the best record in school history. Smith was named 2022-23 GMAC Defensive Player of the Year after her junior season. Eagan had high praise for Smith's defensive ability:

"Kiara will bring so many things to our program, but I am so excited about the intensity, athleticism, drive, and competitiveness she brings on the defensive side of the ball. I look forward to getting her on campus and getting to work!" exclaimed Eagan.

Smith was also a member of the 2022-23 PC JW all-tournament team. After tearing her ACL this past January, Smith has been cleared for her senior season.  Off the court, Smith earned honor roll accolades for her work in the classroom.
