The Lindenwood women's basketball team (1-6, 0-0 OVC) is set to take on Harris-Stowe State University (2-6, 0-0 AMC) on Monday. The two teams will tip-off at 11:00 a.m. in an Education Day game.

The Lions picked up their first win of the season on Thursday, defeating Eastern Michigan 71-64,
Ellie Brueggemann paced the balanced offensive attack with 18 points, while
Mya Skoff (11) and
Alyssa Nielsen (10) joined her in double figures. Brueggemann has now scored in double digits in six games this season, continuing her strong start to her collegiate career. She currently leads the team, averaging 15.6 points per game.

Lindenwood was plus-13 in the turnover battle against the Eagles, forcing 23, while only committing 10. Those 23 turnovers led to 24 points for the Lions. Lindenwood had 13 total steals, led by
Makayla Wallace and
Mykayla Cunningham who had three each.

Wallace filled the stat sheet on Thursday. In a game-high 32 minutes, the graduate guard tallied eight points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals. The St. Louis, Mo. native was clutch down the stretch, hitting big free throws to seal the first win of the season as well as win number one under head coach Amy Eagan.

The Lions went 11-of-13 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter and finished the contest 14-of-17 overall from the line. Skoff and Wallace had the most makes for Lindenwood with four apiece.

Lindenwood has two more non-conference games against Minnesota (12/16) and Evansville (12/21) before beginning conference play at home against Southern Indiana on New Years Eve.
