In their second matchup, the score ended 5-1 in favor of the #14 Western Michigan Broncos; however, it does not show the sheer determination and grit displayed by the Lindenwood Lions. This team demonstrated tenacity for all 60 minutes of play.

Western Michigan scored twice in the first to take a 2-0 advantage into the second period. The second started with another goal by the Broncos, taking them up 3-0. David Gagnon glided into a smooth goal for the Lions at 12:16, unassisted.
Entering the final 20-minutes of play, the score was 3-1 in favor of Western Michigan. During the final period, the Broncos scored two additional goals to secure the win, 5-1.
Trent Burnham guarded the net for the Lions for all 60 minutes, recorded 39 saves will allowing five goals.
