The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-8, 0-0 OVC) dropped its final non-conference game to Minnesota (11-1), 100-45 on Thursday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Golden Gophers got off to a quick 8-0 start less than three minutes into the game.
Ellie Brueggemann began the scoring for the Lions with a turnaround jumper on the next offensive possession. Minnesota extended its lead throughout the opening frame and would lead 29-10 after 10 minutes.
Minnesota grew its lead during the second quarter.
Alyssa Nielsen knocked down a three late in the frame to give her a team-high five points at the break. Lindenwood trailed 55-15 heading into halftime.
The Lions made five field goals in the third quarter, with three of them coming from behind the arc. Brueggemann knocked down a pair of three pointers in the frame and finished the quarter with eight points, pushing her to a team-high 10.
Stevi Lockhart made the other three-point field goal in the quarter.
Lockhart and Brueggemann carried the offensive production in the final frame scoring 10 of the teams 17 points in the quarter. Lindenwood fell by a score of 100-45
