The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-8, 0-0 OVC) begins conference play with a matchup against Southern Indiana (6-5, 1-0 OVC) at home on Sunday. Tip-off inside Hyland Arena is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

In their last game on December 21st, the Lions fell to the University of Minnesota, 100-45 on the road.
Ellie Brueggemann led the squad with 15 points, including three makes from beyond the arc. The freshman guard is averaging 3.1 three pointers per game, tops in the OVC. Brueggemann has scored in double figures during eight games this season.

In the second half, Lindenwood shot 6-16 (37.5 percent) from deep, with five of those makes coming from Brueggemann and
Stevi Lockhart. This season, the Lions average 6,5 three-pointers per game, ranking sixth in the conference.

Gracie Kelsey provided a spark off the bench, combining for 15 of the 22 points from the reserves. Lockart finished the game with eight points and made two shots from three-point range. Kelsey was strong inside, tallying seven points, six rebounds and one block.

So far this season, the Lions have taken care of the ball, averaging just 13.5 turnovers per game, the 38th best mark in the country. The squads' turnover margin of 4.20 is the best in the Ohio Valley Conference.

This will be the seventh all time meeting between the Screaming Eagles and Lions, including the third at the Division I level. Last season, USI picked up a victory in both matchups. In those two games,
