ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood women's basketball team will be squaring up with the Morehead State Eagles tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in Morehead, Kentucky.
Lindenwood is most recently coming off a loss to Tennessee Tech, which occurred Thursday night in Cookeville, Tennessee by a final score of 39-71.
Mary McGrath and
Brooke Woodyard both scored in double figures for the Lions this game, with McGrath hitting 13 and Woodyard hitting 10 total. These two also tag-teamed the boards well thanks to McGrath's seven rebounds and Woodyards four.
McGrath continues to lead the way in both the points and rebounds per game columns for Lindenwood, averaging 12.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
Devin Fuhring has the next highest points per game average with 10.8, while Woodyard is second best on the boards with her 4.3 rebounds per game average.
When the Lions and Eagles went head-to-head earlier this season, Morehead ended up edgin the Lions by a narrow final score of 66-72 on January 21 in Hyland Arena.
Alana Striverson had a huge 24-point game on this day, leading the Lions with her new season and career high number of points in a single game.
McGrath hit a strong 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as well last time the team played Morehead, while Fuhring had a 13 point, seven rebound performance.
Since the two teams met last on December 31, the Eagles have gone 2-5, most recently losing to Tennessee State 49-61 in Kentucky on Thursday night. Veronica Charles remains in the lead scoring wise for MSU with her 12.9 points per game average.
