Chesterton Collects Three Hits in Baseball's Loss to Nicholls State

THIBODAUX, La. --The Lindenwood baseball team (1-3) got three hits from junior Bradley Chesterton in a 9-2 loss to the Nicholls State Colonels (3-1) on Monday.

In addition to his three hits, Chesterton had a double to lead the Lions. Junior Ethan Abercrombie put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Sophomore Ambrose Russo also helped out for Lindenwood, putting together one hit in five trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Lions first put runs on the board in the second inning. Lindenwood got an RBI single from Russo, scoring Abercrombie from second base.

The Colonels then scored two runs to retake their advantage heading into the fifth inning, when the Lions responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Lindenwood scored once on an RBI single off the bat of junior Logan Stevens, which brought the score to 3-2 in favor of the Colonels. The Lions were unable to get any closer, as Nicholls State added six runs to their tally on the way to a 9-2 final.
