Men's Volleyball Comes Up Short Against LIU

ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood men's volleyball team dropped three sets for an 0-3 loss to the LIU Sharks on Friday night in Hyland Arena.

OVERVIEW
The Lions came out strong in the first set, holding a slight lead over the visiting Sharks various times throughout the duration of the set. LIU was able to swing the momentum in their favor as the set went on, however, hitting cleaner than the Lions with their .455 team attacking percentage. Lindenwood's nine attacking errors as a group led to a .143 hitting percentage, which was not enough to down the visitors. Lindenwood would ultimately fall 21-25, looking to make the comeback in set two.

Lindenwood's attack got slightly stronger in the second, but LIU remained dominant for the majority of this set. The Lions fell in a 22-25 final score this time, unable to hold the lead for long enough throughout this set.

Set three was the Lions' strongest set offensively, stringing together a .235 hitting percentage as a collective. Despite falling in the third set as well by another score of 22-25, the Lions played much better on both sides of the ball, putting up a legitimate fight against the Sharks all set along.

Highlights of the night would include Ian Schuller's team-leading 15 kills, while Rashawn Bonner would put together the highest attacking percentage for the Lions with his .400. Connor Sheehan had a 32-assist performance while also leading the way in the digs category with nine total. A.J. Lewis had the second-highest number of kills with 10 total while also tallying a team-high 32 receptions throughout the night.
