NASHVILLE, Tenn. --The Lindenwood baseball team (3-18) lost 3-0 to Belmont (11-11) on Sunday, ending the weekend road series.
Sophomore Bennett Stice (1-3) got the ball to start for Lindenwood and took the loss. At the plate, the Lions were paced by sophomore Dawson Hokuf, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lindenwood did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Lions went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when Hokuf made it into scoring position with one out. Hokuf drew a walk in the top of the ninth with one out, but Belmont closed the door in the final game of the series.
GAME NOTES
» Lindenwood pitchers faced 32 Belmont hitters in the game, allowing 11 ground balls and seven fly balls while striking out one.
» Hokuf led the Lions at the plate, going 1-for-3.
» Belmont was led offensively by junior Mason Landers, who went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
» Pryor led the Bruins pitching staff, throwing six scoreless innings.
