CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas --The Lindenwood baseball team (2-10) was unable to notch a run against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-5) in an 8-0 loss on Sunday
Sophomore Bennett Stice (1-2) got the ball to start for Lindenwood and took the loss. Freshman Jacob Brown was a bright spot for the Lions, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one shutout inning, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout. At the plate, the Lions were led by sophomore Marcus Heusohn, who went 1-for-3 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lindenwood was held to just one hit on the day, as the Lions left two runners stranded in the game. Stice struck out five batters in his 4 2/3 innings of work on the mound.
GAME NOTES
» Lindenwood pitchers faced 40 Texas A&M-CC hitters in the game, allowing nine ground balls and five fly balls while striking out seven.
» Heusohn led the Lions at the plate, going 1-for-3.
» Texas A&M-CC was led offensively by sophomore C Reisdorph, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
» Purcell led the Islanders pitching staff, throwing nine shutout innings.
