On Saturday, the Lindenwood men's lacrosse team faced off against the fourteenth ranked team in the country, the Jacksonville University Dolphins. The Lions would fall to the Dolphins 15-5.
Overview
The Lions would start off the game hot, scoring the first three goals. The Dolphins would bounce back scoring four times to end the first quarter with the Dolphins leading 4-3. Scorers for the Lions in the first frame included two tallies from
Cam Smith, and a tally from
Flint Thielen. In the second quarter, the Lions would remain scoreless while the Dolphins would score four times, leading going into half 7-3.
In the third quarter, the Dolphins would score twice and once again keep the Lions to zero goals. The Lions would trail 9-3 going into the final frame. In the fourth, the Lions would break their scoreless drought, coming from two Smith tallies. The Dolphins would score six times in the final quarter.
Blake Nolan started in net for the Lions, making 19 saves. Smith the Indiana native, led the Lions in scoring with four points coming from four goals.
