The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (10-13, 7-7 MIVA) fell to Ohio State (20-9, 11-3 MIVA) three sets to none in the opening round of the MIVA Tournament on Saturday evening from Columbus, Ohio.
GAME OVERVIEW
After dropping the first three point of the match, the opening set was a back and forth one. Tied 16-16, the Lions took the next three points, going up 19-16. However, Ohio State took control late and grabbed the first, 25-23. Lindenwood compiled a solid .300 hit percentage, led by
Ian Schuller who hit .429. He along with
A.J. Lewis paced the Lions with four kills in the first frame.
A kill by Clay Weiter put Lindenwood ahead 13-11 midway through the second set. The Buckeyes were able to battle back and take a late lead once again as the score finished the same as the first set at 25-23.
In the third set, Ohio State maintained a comfortable lead at 16-11. As the set continued, the Lions staved off three set points, as a service ace by Lewis moved the score to 24-23 in favor of the Buckeyes. Ohio State was able to cap off the victory, winning the set, 25-23.
