COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --Sophomore Preston Salazar was dealing on Thursday, throwing a five-hit shutout to lead the Lindenwood baseball squad (6-24, 3-4 OVC) to a victory over Tennessee Tech (9-19, 1-3 OVC) by a final of 6-0.
Salazar (1-6) went the distance for Lindenwood, giving up five hits, walking three and striking out five.
Junior Logan Stevens led the way offensively for the Lions, going 1-for-4 in the ballgame with a home run, a walk and two RBI. Senior Joe Copeland put together a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and an RBI. Sophomore Dawson Hokuf also chipped in, going 1-for-3 for Lindenwood with a double, two walks and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Lindenwood put up a three spot, the big hit coming by way of a run-scoring double off the bat of Hokuf. The Lions also added runs in the third and fourth innings on the way to the 6-0 victory.
