ST. CHARLES, MO. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (2-4-1, 0-0-0 OVC) travels to Vermillion, S.D., to take on South Dakota (3-2-3, 0-0-0 Summit) in their final non-conference matchup of the year. The match will take place at 6:00 p.m. at First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex.

The Lions are looking to bounce back from a two-game losing streak, where they fell to Missouri State and IUPUI in their most recent matchups. Players to watch for the Lions include Anna Johnson, Mia Corrigan, Maggie Weller, Karsen Kohl, and Erika Anstine. Johnson, only a freshman, leads the Lions in points with five coming from two goals and one assist. Weller and Corrigan are tied for second-most points on the team with four. Kohl has been a strong presence at midfield, playing 624 minutes out of the 630, which is second most on the team just behind Anstine. Anstine as the last line of defense has started and played all seven games in net for the Lions, making 35 saves on 12 goals against.

The Lions are looking to get their third win of the season, just to be one game below .500.

The Black and Gold will matchup against South Dakota for the first time. South Dakota split their most recent matchups falling to Northern Iowa and winning over Drake. Players to watch for the Coyotes include Ashby Johnston, Shaylee Gailus, and Caroline Lewis. Johnston leads the Coyotes in points with 12 coming from five goals and two assists. Gailus is second on the team in points with ten coming from four goals and two assists. Lewis leads the Coyotes in net, playing in all eight games, making 41 saves on 12 goals against.

The Lions will return home in their next matchup to start off OVC play against Tennessee Tech on Thursday, September 21st.
