ST. CHARLES, MO. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (2-2-0, 0-0-0 OVC) will take on Southern Illinois (1-2-2, 0-0-0 MVC) in their fifth game of the 2023 season on Sunday, September 3rd, for a 1:00 p.m. start time.

The Lions are coming off two wins in a row, winning against Chicago State 4-2 (August 24th, 2023), and Murray State 1-0 (August 31st, 2023). Mia Corrigan and Anna Johnson lead the Lions in goals with two. Other individuals with goals include Mattie Ohlsen and Maggie Weller. Johnson leads the lions in shots with seven. Erika Anstine and Karsen Kohl are tied for the most minutes on the team with 270. Anstine has the most saves on the team with twelve on six goals against.

The Lions are looking to get to over .500 on the year with a win over the Southern Illinois Salukis to have a record of 3-2-0. In their most recent matchup against Murray State, Lindenwood head coach Dave Musso hit the 200 career win mark. 

Lindenwood will meet Southern Illinois for the second time in the Lions relatively short history in NCAA Division I. The Salukis fell in the last matchup by a score of 2-0 versus the Lions, on August 18th, 2022. The Salukis currently sit 1-2-2 on the year and were picked eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll.  On the season, the Salukis have given up seven goals on the year in five games, and have scored four goals on the year. Kaitlin DuCharme and McKensey Bunch are the lone scorers for the Salukis with both of them having two goals. Chantelle Symes and Ary Lougher have shared time in net for the Salukis making a total of 31 saves and seven goals against. Symes has started and played in one more game than Lougher, making three starts. The Salukis are coming off a 1-1 tie to OVC opponent SIUE.  

Lindenwood will travel to Missouri State in their next matchup, on Thursday, Sept. 7th at 7:00 p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
