Lindenwood women's volleyball ends their four match home stand to start Ohio Valley Conference play as they host UT Martin for two matches on Thursday and Friday. The Skyhawks were crowned OVC regular season champions last season.
LU has started off conference play with a perfect 2-0 record against OVC newcomer Western Illinois and SIUE. The Lions defeated WIU in their first 3-0 sweep of the season and defeated SIUE in four sets last Saturday.
UT Martin is coming off a two match home series against Eastern Illinois where they dropped both matches, 0-3 and 1-3. The Skyhawks have played three common opponents this season including Oakland (L, 2-3), Southern Illinois (L, 0-3) and Missouri State (L, 2-3).
The Lions were picked to finish seventh this season in the OVC during the preseason voting. UT Martin was picked to finish in third place this season after posting a 15-3 OVC record last season.

Lindenwood women's volleyball captured a 3-1 victory over their river rival SIUE after a career day fromÂ
Addy McAleer who posted 23 kills in the win. The Lions hit .224 on the evening with three players with double-digit kills.
McAleer attacked early and often for the Lions as they took the first set by a score of 25-22. She was the team leader with six kills in the first and was one of six players with at least one kill. Lindenwood also earned three service aces in the set fromÂ

The Lions and Cougars went back and forth resulting in eight ties and four lead changes. After trailing 19-20 late, Lindenwood stormed back to score the next six of eight points. SIUE was held to a .132 hitting percentage in the first.
Janke would go on to score the final two points of the set to put Lindenwood up 2-0 heading into the third. McAleer added another five kills while Wilson added three. In total, Lindenwood had 15 kills in the second with a .256 hitting percentage.Â
Allie Otten also had six of her assists in the second.
The Cougars claimed their lone set victory in the third by a score of 23-25. SIUE controlled the majority of the set despite the Lions posting 14 kills and a .233 hitting percentage. LU trailed 17-21 and climbed back to 23-24 before McAleer ended the third with an attack error.
Lindenwood never waivered as they eventually closed out the match with a 25-21 fourth set victory. McAleer added another six kills to close out the match. The match ended with a service error by Julia Treichel to give Lindenwood a 2-0 start to Ohio Valley Conference play.
Janke added a total of 11 kills and five blocks to the Lion attack while Wilson added 10 kills and 15 digs. LiberoÂ
Jessie Seidel had 15 digs and six assists along with two kills. Otten led the Lions with 32 assists.
OVC Top Ten
Lions continue to impress to start OVC play as they have four Lions making the top ten of statistical categories in the conference.
Rebecca Janke returns to the top ten in hitting percentage with a season average of .296. Janke has hit over .300 nine times this season including a season high .455 vs. SIUE last week.
Not only is Janke and effective hitter, but she ranks in the top 10 in total blocks and block assists. Her 46 total blocks this season and 39 block assists ranks sixth in the conference while her 0.94 blocks per set is tied for sixth. McAleer also has 173 total points this season, seventh best in the OVC while her 3.53 p/s is tenth.
Addy McAleer enters the top ten after posting a career day on Saturday against SIUE with 23 kills. It was tied for the second most kills in a match for any Lions in the NCAA era. McAleer ranks sixth in total kills this season with 155 and her 3.16 k/s average is eighth.
Setter
Allie Otten currently ranks eighth in the OVC in assists per set with an average of 6.57 per set. Her 322 total assists ranks sixth in the OVC. Libero

Player To Watch
Addy McAleer is coming off her best week of the season after posting a season/career high 23 kills in the Lions' 3-1 win over SIUE on Saturday. It marked her first 20+ kill match of her season and her ninth double-digit kill match.
On the season, McAleer has hit 155 kills while hitting .171. In her last two matches, she hit for a .265 average and a .298 average which was the highest mark this season. Not only is she effective on offense, but she has also collected 86 digs (fourth on the team).
