Women’s Ice Hockey Releases Schedule

ST. CHARLES, MO.  – The Lindenwood women's hockey team will play 32 games during the 2023-24 season, including 16 at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo. The schedule contains 20 games inside College Hockey America (CHA). The 2023-24 season will be the first for Head Coach Taylor Wasylk who comes to Lindenwood after spending the last five years as head coach at Suffolk University, a Division III program in Boston, Mass. During her time with the Rams, Wasylk amassed a 64-44-7 record which culminated in a Commonwealth Coast Conference championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance this past season.
 
Lindenwood opens the year with a four game homestand featuring Bemidji State and defending National Champion Wisconsin Badgers. Last season the Lions forced Bemidji to overtime before falling 3-2 to open the season. Natalie Ferenc was strong against the #1 ranked Badgers stopping 66 Wisconsin shots in the series opener, which ranks as the third most saves by a CHA goaltender in a single game. The Lions will host Bemidji State on September 23rd and 24th, and will host Wisconsin on September 28th and 29th.
 
The Lions will head on the road to play the Saint Thomas Tommie's on October 6th and 7th. The Lions will remain on the road for the 2023, traveling to Fairfield, Conn., to partake in the Ice Breaker tournament hosted by Sacred Heart University. The Lions will meet the Pioneers for the first time in program history on October 20th. The results of the games will then determine the next matchup with either Northeastern or St. Cloud State the next day on October 21.
 
Conference play opens on the road when Lindenwood visits RIT for a two-game series on October 27-28. The Lions completed a season sweep of the Tigers last year, winning all four contests. The team will return home to face the Penn State Nittany Lions at Centene Community Ice Center on November 3-4. The defending CHA Champion Nittany Lions went 27-9-2 last season on route to a NCAA tournament.
 
The Lions will have their second four-game homestand beginning on November 4-5 when the Stonehill Skyhawks come to Maryland Heights, followed by Mercyhurst the weekend of December 2-3 to conclude the first half of the season. 
 
Lindenwood opens the 2024 portion of the schedule with trips to Minnesota State- Mankato and will meet conference foe Robert Morris University for the first time since December of 2020 when the Lions travel to Moon Township, PA to face the Colonials on January 12-13.
 
Other home games include RIT making their trip to Missouri on January 19-20 for the first set of home games in 2024. The Syracuse Orange follow on February 2-3, last season Lindenwood picked up a 6-3 victory in the second of game of their home series. The Orange skated to a 10-24-2 record in the 22-23 campaign.
 
Lindenwood wraps up its regular season at Centene Community Ice Center with senior weekend on February 16-17 with a pair of games against Robert Morris who will be completing their first season back from hiatus in 23-24.
