ST. CHARLES, MO. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (2-2-1, 0-0-0 OVC) will take on Missouri State (4-0-2, 0-0-0 MVC) in their sixth game of the 2023 season. The match will be played on Thursday, September 7th, for a 7:00 pm start time in Springfield, Mo., at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium.

The Lions are coming off a two-game week, where they beat Murray State 1-0 and tied Southern Illinois 1-1. Through five games, freshman Anna Johnson leads the Lions in points with five, coming off two goals and one assist, and leads the shots category with nine shots. Mia Corrigan and Maggie Weller are tied for the second most points on the team with four points. Johnson, Weller, and Karsen Kohl are tied for the most shots on goal with nine. Erika Anstine has started and played in all five games in net for the Lions, making fourteen saves on seven goals against.

The Lions are looking to get their third win on the season, for an overall record of 3-2-1. 

Lindenwood will meet Missouri State for the first time. Missouri State was picked as the favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), in the MVC preseason poll. The Bears are 4-0-2 on the year, picking up wins over SIUE, Oklahoma State, Central Arkansas, and University of Tulsa. In their last two contests, they picked up a tie over Oral Roberts (Aug. 31st), and a 3-1 win over Tulsa (Sep. 3rd). Gracie English leads the Bears in points with six, coming off three goals. Camielle Day leads the Bears in net making seventeen saves on four goals against.

Lindenwood will take on IUPUI in their next matchup, on September 10th at 12:00 pm Central, in Indianapolis, Ind.
