Women's Basketball Travels to SEMO on Thursday

The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-10, 0-2 OVC) remains on the road and will take on Southeast Missouri State (4-10, 1-2 OVC) on Thursday in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m.
 
The Lions are coming off a 74-58 loss to Western Illinois last Saturday at Western Hall. Ellie Brueggemann and Mykayla Cunningham finished the contest in double figures. This is the 10th time in 12 games that Brueggemann has led the team in scoring, and she paces the team, averaging 14.4 points per game overall.
 
Cunningham continues to provide a spark off the bench, registering double figures for the third time in four games. As a team, the Lions totaled 24 points from their reserves, marking the ninth game this season with 20 or more points from the bench.
 
Makayla Wallace dished out five assists against the Leathernecks, marking her second consecutive game with at least five dimes. She averages 3.0 assists per game this season, tops on the team. The St. Louis, Mo. native was a force on the defensive end, compiling five steals.
 
Once again, Lindenwood was active on the defensive side of the ball forcing 22 turnovers. The Lions have forced their opponent to commit 18.2 turnovers per game, while Lindenwood averages just 14.5. The turnover margin of 3.67 leads the Ohio Valley Conference.
 
After Thursday's game, Lindenwood will head to Tennessee State on Saturday before returning home on January 18 for a matchup with SIUE.
