Women’s Ice Hockey Drops Second Matchup to Penn State 6-1

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. – On Saturday, the Lindenwood women's ice hockey team took on Penn State in their second matchup of the weekend. The Lions would fall short to Penn State, losing 6-1.

GAME OVERVIEW
Starting off the game, the Nittany Lions were quick to score, putting one in the back of the net at the 2:16 mark in the frame. Seven minutes later, Penn State would score their second goal of the game and the final goal of the period. The Lions would be held to zero goals in the period. Natalie Ferenc would make 11 saves in the period. Lindenwood would trail 2-0 going into the second quarter.

In the second period, Lindenwood would be held scoreless in the frame, attempting five shots on net. At the 15:38 mark in the period, Penn State would score the only goal in the period, extending their lead to three. Ferenc in the frame, would make 20 stops.

In the third period, Lindenwood would start the scoring off, tallying a goal just 55 seconds into the period. Gigi Pora would be attributed the goal, assisted by Sarah Davies. At this point in the game, Lindenwood would trail Penn State, 3-1. Penn State would rebound, rallying off three goals before the end of the game.

After this matchup, the Lions would fall to 10-15-1 on the season, and 5-8-1 in conference.
