The Lindenwood women's basketball team (4-14, 2-6 OVC) is set for a matchup with Southeast Missouri State (6-13, 3-5 OVC) on Tuesday night inside Hyland Arena. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
Â
The Lions are coming off a thrilling 73-68 road win over UT Martin last Saturday on the road. Lindenwood finished the game on an 11-0 run as
Mya Skoff drilled the go-ahead three-pointer with eight seconds remaining, which helped Lindenwood secure its first victory away from home this season. It was also the first win by Lindenwood in which they trailed at halftime.
Â
Skoff was one of four players in double figures, along with
Ellie Brueggemann,
Alyssa Nielsen and
Justis Odom. Brueggemann paced the Lions with a career-high 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting including seven makes from beyond the arc. Those seven makes from distance tie the most by a single player in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.
Â
Lindenwood moved the ball on the offensive end, assisting on 21 of its 28 made field goals against the Skyhawks. Those 21 assists were a season high. Leading the charge was
Makayla Wallace who had a career-high nine. The St. Louis, Mo. native averages 3.3 dimes per game, tops on the team.
Â
Nielsen added five assists to her stat line to go along with 16 points and six rebounds. The 16 points tied a career-high from earlier this season against SIUE on January 18. She has reached double figures in three of her last five contests.
Â
The Lions will be looking to even the season series with the Redhawks as SEMO earned an 80-63 victory in Cape Girardeau on January 11. In that game, Wallace led Lindenwood with 10 points.
Â
This game is the first of a four-game home stand as Lindenwood will host Western Illinois, Tennessee State, and Tennessee Tech to begin February. The Black and Gold have won three games inside Hyland Arena this season.
