Jackel Scores Lone Goal in 5-1 Loss to Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – On Friday night, women's ice hockey (0-5-1, 0-0-0 AHA) took on Merrimack (2-3-0, 2-2 WHEA) in game one of two versus the Warriors. The Lions would fall to the Warriors 5-1, moving to 0-6-1 on the year.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, Merrimack would get on the board early, scoring 4:01 into the period. The Warriors would notch their second goal of the game, 14:39 into the frame, extending their lead to two. The Warriors would hold the Lions scoreless in the period. After a period of play, Lindenwood would trail Merrimack 2-0. The Lions would have ten shots on net in the first period. Madison Bowtell would make ten stops in the frame.

In the second period, the Lions would get on the board first. Lindenwood's goal would be scored by Sidney Jackel, putting a shot past the goaltender's glove-side, 4:06 into the period. Jackel's goal would be assisted by Quinn McLaren and Chloe Corbin. Merrimack would score the final goal in the period at 16:45, while on the powerplay, to regain their two-goal lead.
