The Lindenwood football team (4-5, 3-2 BS/OVC) hits the road for a matchup with Tennessee Tech (3-5, 3-2 BS/OVC). Kickoff from Tucker Stadium is set for 1:30 p.m.
Â
The Lions are coming off a shootout win over Western Illinois last week, 49-38. Lindenwood had its biggest offense output of the season, compiling 572 yards, including 389 on the ground, which was 29 yards away from the single-game team rushing record. The Black and Gold have now rushed for 200 or more yards in three-consecutive games.
Â
Steve Hall put together an historic day out of the backfield, tallying 259 yards on just 13 carries, good for nearly 20 yards per attempt. The 259 yards were just 13 short of the programs single-game rushing record. The St. Louis, Mo. native found the endzone four times from 9, 12, 75, and 93 yards out. For his efforts, the 5-9 back was named Big South-OVC and FCS National Freshman of the Week.
Â
Hall has been apart of a three-headed monster at running back all season for the Lions. The trio of Hall,
Cortezz Jones, and
Robert Giaimo have averaged 194.2 yards per game on the ground, tops in the Big South-OVC. Individually, Lindenwood has compiled four 100-yard rushing games from running backs so far this season.
Â
Another player who has reached the century mark during a game this season is quarterback
Nate Glantz who used his legs again last week scampering for a 30-yard score in the second quarter. Glantz finished his day with three total touchdowns, hooking up with
John Anthony for his first-career score, while finding
Darrin Fugitt for the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth. Glantz has had both a passing and rushing touchdown in two games this season, each were Lindenwood victories.
Â
This will be the third meeting between the two schools in program history with the home team winning each contest. The Lions shutout the Golden Eagles last season, 23-0, picking up the programs first shutout since 2015 in the process.
