EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Lindenwood women's volleyball (9-7, 3-1 OVC) lost their first Ohio Valley Conference match of the season on Friday against the Cougars of SIUE (6-8, 1-2 OVC) by a final score of 3-1. The Lions had three players with over 10 kills in the match.

During the third set on Friday, libero
Jessie Seidel posted her 2,000
th career dig at Lindenwood become the first player in program history to do so. She ended the match with a team-high 24 digs while also posting seven assists and two aces.

Rebecca Janke continued her dominant stretch in the middle of the Lions' offense against SIUE with a team-high 18 kills while hitting .429, also a team-high. She now moves into second all-time at Lindenwood (NCAA era) in kills with 932. Lindenwood's offense hit .184 on Friday with 26 errors.

Nyah Wilson (10) also had double-dig kills.

Setter
Allie Otten assisted on 42 of Lindenwood's 53 kills. She also picked up 16 digs defensively. The Lions had 66 total digs against the Cougars with eight different players earning at least two. Wilson was one dig shy (nine) of posting a double-double.

Bax and middle blocker
Ashley Geluck were effective at the net. Geluck led the team in total blocks with four while Bax added two.
Addy McAleer contributed seven kills for LU.

The first set went to SIUE by a score of 25-21. Lindenwood produced their most errors of the evening with nine during the first set while hitting .143. Bax and Janke both had four kills in the first set. SIUE hit .294 during the first and were led by four different Cougars with three kills each.
Lindenwood's offense played better in the second, but SIUE still took the set by a score of 27-25. LU's kills (16) and hitting percentage (.208) went up from the first set. Janke powered down five kills while Otten posted 13 assists.
Seidel made history in a Lindenwood set three win with a score of 25-18. She picked up her 2,000th career dig in the set while posting six total in the third. Lindenwood's offense had its best performance on Friday during the third with a .226 hitting percentage.
SIUE closed the match with a 25-22 set four victory in Edwardsville. Both teams were competitive with 12 ties and five lead changes. A late run by the Cougars handed the Lions their first conference loss of the season. Janke ended her night with five kills in the fourth.
