Women's Volleyball Wins 20th Match Of The Season

Lions pick up a 3-0 sweep at Little Rock, will be #2 seed in the OVC Tournament

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Lindenwood women's volleyball (20-10, 14-4 OVC) earned their 20th win of the season, most since 2017, with a 3-0 sweep at Little Rock (16-15, 11-7 OVC) to end the regular season. The Lions will be the #2 seed heading into the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament next Sunday, Nov. 24th.

Three Lions had 11 kills on Wednesday in a dominate win. Rebecca Janke was one of those Lions with 11 kills while hitting a team-high .346 (min. 20 attacks). Autumn Bax also had 11 kills while setting the Lindenwood Freshman Kills Record with her 291st of the season. She also becomes the second Lion to go over 300 kills this season.

Addy McAleer had her ninth match of the season with double-digit kills with 11. Nyah Wilson posted nine as well on 29 swings while Ashley Geluck added six. Allie Otten had her most assists in a three set match with 43 while helping LU hit .257, Otten added five kills and 13 digs.

Jessie Seidel led the way defensively with 26 digs while Lindenwood had a total of 80 for the night which was also the most in a three-set match. McAleer and Otten chipped in 14 and 13 digs respectively while Dana Grib off the bench added 10.

In the most competitive set of the night, Lindenwood and Little Rock posted 10 ties and six lead changes in the first. LU would take control late in the set to win 26-24. Little Rock was down three points 24-21 before tying the set. The Lions scored two straight to take the set. Janke had five kills while Seidel added 13 digs.

Lindenwood's most dominate set came in the second when the Lions hit .317 in a 25-18 win. McAleer led the offense with four kills in a set which saw six different Lions record a kill. The Lions also had 22 digs defensively while holding Little Rock to a .053 hitting percentage with six attack errors.

Lindenwood's regular season came to a close after winning set three by a final score of 25-21. McAleer and Janke both had five kills in the third while LU hit .289 as a team. The Lions had 19 kills as a team with Otten recording 16 assists.

The Lions will continue their season during the OVC Championships as the #2 seed. Lindenwood will take on #7 SIUE on Sunday, Nov. 24th at 10:00 a.m. CT in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on the campus of the OVC regular season champions SEMO. For more information on the OVC Tournament go to this link.
