Bartoszkiewicsz Makes 42 Saves in 4-1 Loss to #1 Denver

DENVER, COLO. – On Friday night, men's ice hockey (2-5-1) took on #1 Denver (8-0-0) in game one of two against the Pioneers. The Lions would hold the nationally ranked Pioneers to four goals on the night, falling to the Pioneers 4-1, and moving to 2-6-1 on the 2024-25 campaign.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, Lindenwood would hold the number one ranked scoring offense in the nation to zero goals in the period. Lindenwood would be held off the scoring sheet as well, resulting in a 0-0 tie after one period of play. Lindenwood would have seven shots on net in the period. Owen Bartoszkiewicz would make 11 saves in the period.

In the second period, Denver would break the 0-0 tie at 05:36, scoring while even-strength. The Pioneers would score twice more before the end of the period, with their final goal of the period coming while on the power-play. Strong defensive play by the Pioneers would hold the Lions scoreless for the second straight period. After two periods of play, Lindenwood would trail nationally ranked Denver 3-0.
