The Lindenwood women's basketball team (6-19, 4-11 OVC) fell to UT Martin (12-15, 9-6 OVC) by a score of 65-56 on Thursday night from Hyland Arena.
GAME OVERVIEW
It was a hot shooting start for both teams in the opening quarter, and after a three-pointer by
Ellie Brueggemann, Lindenwood led 9-8 with 6:10 left in the quarter. UT Martin responded with a 6-0 run to grab a 14-9 lead. The Skyhawks maintained a slim lead throughout the remainder on the frame and led 21-16 after one.

Lindenwood scored the first six points of the second quarter to go up 22-21. The frame continued in a tight fashion, but another three by Brueggemann put the Lions ahead 27-24 just passed the halfway point of the quarter. The Lions were able to take a 33-32 advantage into the locker room. Brueggemann,
Alyssa Nielsen, and
Justis Odom had eight points each.

UT Martin regained the lead, 39-37 early in the third frame. The Skyhawks built on the lead throughout the third period, and with solid shooting, took a 52-44 advantage into the fourth.

The Skyhawks took their largest lead of the game at 58-48 just before the halfway point of the fourth. Lindenwood was unable to draw much closer in the frame and UT Martin closed the game out, picking up the 65-56 win.
