Â
The Lions are coming off a 61-54 victory over Little Rock last Saturday. Lindenwood was led offensively by
Justis Odom who posted a career-high 24 points, 16 of which came in the fourth quarter. The Indianapolis, Ind. native made some big free throws down the stretch and finished the contest going 14-of-16 from the charity stripe. She also added six rebounds to her stat line.
Â
Those six rebounds were a team high as the Lions outrebounded the Trojans, 32-28. The Lions have outrebounded their opponents seven times so far this season and are 4-3 in those games. Odom currently leads the team with 4.2 boards per game.
Â
Lindenwood kept Little Rock quiet from outside last Saturday as the Trojans finished the game 0-of-2 from deep. This is the third time this season in which the Lions have allowed no threes in a game. Overall, the black and gold held Little Rock to just 54 points, the third lowest output by an opposing team this season.
Â
Mykayla Cunningham and
Ellie Brueggemann were the other Lindenwood players in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively. Cunningham made an impact on the defensive end with a team-high three steals. Brueggemann has now scored in double figures in 22 games this season, tops on the team.
Â
Lindenwood will be looking to even the season series with Southern Indiana after the Screaming Eagles topped the Lions 71-68 in the conference opener on December 31. In that game,
Mya Skoff paced the squad with a season-high 16 points.
Â
The Lions are sitting on the edge of OVC Tournament contention with a 5-11 record. Lindenwood will close out the regular season with a road matchup at Morehead State on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. CT.
